This is fairly old news now, however, its something I forgot to mention whwen it came my way. Basically, its a small update on how things are currently going with the World Foundry wiith a bit of information about the recently re-started Maim & Mangle, first of all though, a small update on Explorer2260
Explorer 2260 Update
Development is currently still on schedule for a 3rd/4th quarter. Currently the all important networking and client server protocol implementation has started for playing E2260 over the internet. The Shipyard section (Maintenance, ship purchasing and armoury) of the station systems is currently being worked on and we are hoping to have the station systems completed by the end of March.
Graphics wise, many of the interfaces for the station systems are being developed and several new ships are being modelled and will appear in the CEG this month.
Maim & Mangle Update
Development is progressing well on the game with the 3D engine being constantly improved and more features being added including:
Work is also being done on an editor for handling all the 3D objects in the game and some basic player controls and pathfinding code to be implemented. The GFX people are working on modelling some of the buildings and vehicles along with the texture maps for the 3D engine.
Also of note is that we expect a news item (with some 3D engine test screenshots) on the revival of M&M to appear in the new Amiga print magazine Amiga Active which is launched in April. We hope to have a couple of engine test screenshots on the website within a few weeks also.
