My name is Guvenc Kaplan, I am the founder of Amigart User Group and have
some activities and projects through the Amiga scene.
For some time I am researching the situation of Amiga SWOS, because I know
that SWOS should be played on Amiga. Just for Sensible, I have a 1200
connected to my big TV, for fun at the weekend.
However, Sensible Software is gone and there will probably not be another
Amiga SWOS.
The need of playing with actual datas created the SWOS team editors.
Here are some results of the research I have done:
- - Sensible is best played on Amiga computers.
- - We own Amigas, we are lucky.
- - Amigans love SWOS.
- - Amigans look forward for new releases.
- - We have our editors (thanks Silvio and Piotr)
- - Amigans use this editors and create team files.
- - Some upload to Aminet.
- - Updating only some team files does not help the whole Amiga
community.
- - An update must be a whole update for ALL team datas.
One thing is certain:
- - One person, or two cannot handle all the work. Not me, not you, not
others.
- - A team is needed, so the hard work will be shared.
- - This team has to be in contact.
This idea will create the AMIGA SWOS NETWORK.
What will ASN do?
- - ASN will have one admin per country.
- - These admins will post actual team datas of their country to ASN
periodically.
- - ASN will collect these datas, correct and verify them.
- - Then one (possibly two, depending on season starts and finishs) time per
year a big update will be released. It will be called World Data.
- - There will be (and is atm) a mailing list for admins to discuss and share
thoughts, problems.
- - There will be (and is atm) a web site for people to download the world
data, for admins to find help and editor updates.
Furthermore, I am in contact with the magazines and will fight for an
unofficial release of this World Data.
