Rage of Mages Coming to the Amiga. |

Following on from the news I brought you lst
week that Shogo was being ported to the Amiga, another game from Molonith
Productions is being ported, it is the real-time strategy game Rage of
Mages.
It is being ported by the team behind Mage Wars, Sanios Software. Details ate low at the moment, however, below is the story behind the game as well as a bit of information about the Amiga port.
Over the centuries, many a high-spirited Hero has set out on the quest for the magical weapon that will break the devestating cycle of war. But the mysterious island of Uimoir, which harbors the only hope for victory and redemption, has become the Hero's graveyward. Six hundred years have passed, and adventurer after adventurer simply disappears into the island's cold heart of darkness.
But a new generation is willing to take up the desperate challenge again, buoyed with courage and a deep belief in the quest. Moved by their commitment in the face of terrible odds, the court magician decides to equip these new adventurers with a priceless and powerful amulet. But now a new misfortune is about to enter the world along with your expedition.
Will you succeed? Will you fall prey to a horrible fate? Can you prevent the end of the world, or will you vanish like your forefathers into the dark corners of the mysterious, unforgiving island of Uimoir?
The game features over 25 missions, over 50 type of enemies and creatures and 300 types of weapons and armour to help in your quest against them, lots of different spells, scrolls and potions throughout the game, some excellent enemy AI and multiplayer support for upto 16 players. The game will support both 640x256 and 640x480 screenmodes.
The basic Amiga required for the game will be a AGA Amiga with at least a 68030,
a CD-ROM drive and 200Mb HD space. The game will have enhanced features for gfx
cards and PPC Amigas.
Release of the game is expected to be sometime around December 1999.
