Mage Wars & Sanios Software

Sanios Software are a new development team from Australia, you may remember them from when it was featured on several news sites that they wanted to convert 'Guts'n'Garters in DNA Danger' to the Amiga. Well, sadly (due to Ocean not allowing the licence) this has fallen though. However, they have now started work on their own project called Mage Wars.

What is it I hera you asking....Well, it is an RPG game that brings the excellance of them old Dungeons & Dragons back to life and back upto date. The game is played either turn-based or in realtime (You actually get to choose how you want to play the game, pretty impressive). Initially the game will be AGA only, however, there is a chance that they will consider a GFX card support sometime in the future.

In the game you play the part of a Mage (otherwise known as a Wizard) you have to traverse a vast landscape, gaining experience and power as you go along. There are hundreds of unique items to be found that will both aid and hinder your quest. Magic Spells by the bucket load and plenty of interesting and dangerous characters. The graphics in the game are being produced by the same people that done Sixth Sense Investigations so they should be something pretty special.

A few of the features that the game boasts includes:- over 50 levels of charactor experience, more then 20 unique enemies, over 100 different items, special abilities, loads of magic spells, the abilty to create your own charactor - even going as far as to be able to make your own gfx for them and a fair bit more.

The minium specification for the game is an AGA Amiga with 020 & 4Mb Fast RAM, 4x CD-ROM drive, however, it is recommeneded that you have at least an AGA Amiga with 030 and 8MB Fast RAM and a 8x CD-ROM drive.

There are a few very early screenshots of the game dotted around this page. Hopefully the game will be released sometime around late 1999

Sanios Software are also working on another game called Rock Dogs. Details are low on this at the moemnt, however, I can tell you that the basis of this adventure like game revolves around you trying to get a recording contract with a top music company, they plan to support lots of hardware including GFX card and maybe even PPC, more news as I get it.

Sanios Software are also on the look out for a few people to fill some vacant positions in their team. They require both a webmaster and a 3D programmer, more info can be found on their webpage.
