Land of Genesis is a new game which is in development by Italian team, Darkage Software. The game is a mix of both the platform and shoot'em-up genres.

The development of the game was started quite a long time ago, however, the developer for various reasons stopped work on it. Now, along with Darkage Software the coder has re-started work on it and hopes to have it finished in just a few months.

The story of the game goes something like this. Land of genesis is ambiented in the future. As result of a secret experiment, some humans genetically modified, have taken the control of the Mars base where the experiment have taken place. You are invited to Mars to kill all the monstruous creatures. Basically, its the usual kill everything that moves formula.

As I said, the game will contain both platform and shoot-em-up elements, as you can see, the style of the platform game is very similar to that of the Turrican series. The game consists of 5 levels for you to fight your way through with a few secret ones chucked in for good measure, during this will will come across over 120 enemies with over 2000 frames of animation between them.

Other features that the game boasts includes Sophisticated computer opponents with many individual styles of play, 8 megabytes of stunning in-game graphics, video sequences and  digital audio tracks, a conditional music system which changes during the battle with the end of level boss, digitised voices to advise when you make critical decisions and more.

The game is scheduled for a CD-ROM release sometime in October by Epic Marketing.
