Crystal Software have just released updates on
a number of future games that they have planned, you can fins virtually
of of the news released below, it would seem they have quite a number of
games in the pipeline.
Gilbert Goodmate
I'm sure you have all heard about this game already, basically, it is a point-and-click adventure in the style of the old classics.
The game will be receiving a multi-format release with both Amiga & PC versions in the pipline. It boasts some very nice features such as high quality, highrResolution graphics featuring full screen with millions of colours, over 45 hand drawn locations created by a Disney Artist, over 50 hilarious characters to comunicate with, scalable character animation on the main character, studio developed CD sound track, full character speech throughout the game and much more.
It will require an AGA Amiga at least with both Graphics Cards and PPC being supported.
Its scheduled for release in July 1999.
Dark Millenia
Again, this is another game that has been featured on these pages before, it was sceduled for release back in December but ran into a few difficuties, these are overcome now and the game should be with us anytime now, it looks like this will be the first game to be released by Crystal Software.
This is another Command & Conquer type game, however, with a difference, its set
in a fantasy medieval timezone with goblins, elves and dwarfs are the like.
Again, it boasts a nice range of features including AGA 256 Colour
graphics, distancing on sounds, pseudo 3D environment, (go behind, under, in
front or above other objects), fully animated environment, eg trees blowing in
the wind, water currents, real Time Weather System (which can be controlled by
wizards), lightening, Rain and Cloud effects, transparent shadows FXs, CD music
and in game speech and much more.
Like I said, the game should be with us anytime now so keep your eyes peeled. I have played an early demo of the game and was suitablially impressed so make sure you don't miss this one.
The Holy Trinity
Nopt much to tell you regarding this game apart from that it is some sort of Adventure/RPG from a team called Digital Visionaries. A release date for the game is yet to be confirmed. I'll try to get more news on this game soon.
Dark Soul
This is most definantly one of the more interesting releases scheduled by Crystal Software. It is billed as being a role playing game like no other, and it could well be that as it is PPC & GFX Card only.
Again, there isn't a tremendous amount of news to report allthough I do have s small list of features that the game boasts.:-
Hopefully more news soon...
Mage Wars
I brought you first news on this nice looking RPG just last week, instead of repeatinf myself again, just take a look at the orginal article which is linked here.
Surfice to say that all that I didn't mention is that is will be published by Crystal Software which is why its in this article ;).
Abducted
Another game you may have seen on these pages before, Abducted is another point & click adventure game from a team called Aftertaste Prouctions.
Details on the game are not that high at the moment, however, I have been able
to obtain some information on it. The game will be aimed at AGA Amigas and thus
the game will be 256 colours. It wlll also feature HAM8 3D sequences, 16/8bit
sound and sampled speech for all dialogues.
The game also promises to be very humourous which is an area where the Monkey Island series done very well. An easy point-and-click interface is being used to make the game as easy to play as possible.
Tanks Goblins
Unforunatly, this one has been cancelled for the time being, there may be a chance that is will be released in the future, however, this is slim.
Quite an impressive line-up of games i'm sure you'll agree, it woul seem that
Crystal Software are becoming a major player in the Amiga market.
